What should I wear to the shoot?

This is a great question! Planning what to wear for a shoot is one of the hardest things to do. Especially if you're trying to coordinate family outfits!

I always recommend checking Pinterest for family outfit ideas! Warm and neutral colors are always a great option when in doubt. Whites, beiges, tans, cream, pastels and blue always photograph well.

For Fall: Teal, Brown, Black and White, burgundy.
Winter: Dark Green, Red, White, Plaid, Black
Spring/Summer: Pinks/Purples, Green, Pastels of any color!

Dress to impress, but come comfortably and authentically yourself!

Some other tips:
- Remember not to match exactly for family/group shots. Everyone wearing the same color shirt and pants is not the best idea. Instead, pick a color scheme like blue, khaki and white and have each group member wear some variation of those colors!
- Since I shoot outdoors, remember it's ok to bring comfortable shoes to walk in and we can change on site. Same thing for toddlers and babies, they can always change right at the shoot location if you're worried about them messing up their outfits beforehand.

How do I cancel/reschedule my shoot

I completely understand that things happen! So I do my best to be flexible and accommodate any last minute changes or emergencies. I ask that you reach out to cancel/reschedule at least 1.5 hours before your shoot! Please understand that if you cancel your shoot, you will have to wait for the next available session time and date to re-book.

Do you provide unedited/RAW photos?

I do not. My contract also states that I do not give unedited pictures (RAW photos) straight from the camera. The reasons why are:
-The majority of what you pay for is the editing and time that goes in after shooting your session. Everything from color adjustment to face touch ups are time consuming and part of the finished product you see displayed in my portfolio.
-RAW photos cannot be edited or opened on your computer unless you have professional editing software.
-In a single session there can be up to thousands of photos. That's because a many of those photos will not be usable, so it's important to have plenty to sift through to select the best ones. Even if a photo looks good when viewing it in the camera, photographers often find when editing that some photos are blurry, not focused, or cropped badly. It's understandable to feel like you are "missing photos" or should have some of one specific pose, but that's not always the case. 90% of the time if a certain photo was not included in your gallery, it is because the photo was not able to be properly edited.

For these reasons and more, I do not release RAW photos to clients ever.

Where and when do we shoot?

I have several locations in the DMV area to shoot at! I love open fields, overlooks and mountains as well as elegant and city aesthetics. Ask me for my location list, we will find the perfect location for your shoot!

We will work out a timeline for you day depending on your package. If booking a couple's session I always recommend shooting in the morning hours or the last hour of daylight before sunset!

Can I purchase more photos?

If I have additional photos from your shoot that came out well, I will add them to the gallery watermarked. If you would like to purchase them you can like/favorite the ones you want to purchase. Additional digital images outside of your package are an additional $10.00/per image.

How do you photograph weddings?

I love being by your side to help you before your wedding day. We will get acquainted before your big day! Whether you book a package with a complimentary engagement session or we meet via zoom, I always make sure that every couple is comfortable with me shooting their big day. I'll send you a guide to help you organizing your day, help you decide the best moments for couple photos, and I will help with coordinating the family members and bridal party for the photos. Weddings are my absolute passion. I love meeting both sides of the family and being part of such an important day for people. It's really exciting for me to edit photos of your dress, shoes, invites, etc! On your wedding day, I want to capture the feelings, the mood, the emotions, the calm and crazy moments and all the details that make your wedding unique!

My style is warm and moody. My edits pair well for vintage, black-tie, minimalist, and rustic weddings
